I remember when I was a child I wanted to speak English and to travel around the world. It was my dream job. At that moment I did not know the exact definition of that job. In 8th grade I knew perfectly well which university and which department I am going to study at. In 2002 I became a student of Foreign Languages School at Cherkasy National University named after Boghdan Khmelnytskyi. I will be honest with you guys, it was very hard to study: a lot of sleepless nights were spent on Linguistics colloquiums and Theoretical Grammar not to mention German and Spanish
In June 2007 I graduated from the university and faced the question where to work and what to do. For some time I was working as an interpreter at UniCredit Bank and in 2012 I took my first trip abroad. The country I visited was United Arab Emirates. I fell in love with Dubai, its fascinating buildings, fabulous life style and total safety. So I started looking for a job there.
In 2014 I was hired by Etihad Airways, National Airline of the United Arab Emirates and since then I live in Abu Dhabi, capital of the UAE. United Arab Emirates is a multinational country. There are about 12% of local citizens and the rest are expats.
My life has changed totally and completely – I speak English on regular basis and travel around the world My day starts with breakfast in Abu Dhabi continues with lunch in Germany, Switzerland, Nairobi and ends with dinner in New York, Chicago, Washington or Sydney. During these three years I have been everywhere except for New Zealand and Southern America
Whenever I am shopping in New York or Milan or asking the way to Starbucks in Washington, DC I always keep in mind that only due to hard work of teachers at School of Foreign Languages, Cherkasy National University I can communicate with people in English and travel around the world.
